God the Holy Spirit His Personality Hal Molloy ยท Oct 13, 2002 Major Bible Themes (2002-03), No. 15 Holly Hills Bible Church https://hollyhillsbiblechurch.org/teaching/messages/48262248173139 Transcribed from the recording by SermonAudio, so expect the occasional misheard word. The interesting thing is this, that teaching the Holy Spirit, in most churches today, most churches shy away from teaching about the Holy Spirit. I think one of the primary reasons is this, because of the charismatic movement, and the charismatic movement focuses on the Holy Spirit. and puts all its focus on the Holy Spirit as opposed to the Lord Jesus Christ. And so the focus is wrong. The ministries that they speak of, that they think are active in the church today, which we believe are not, are focused on. So tongues and prophecies and healing and those things. Those ministries, we believe, ceased back in the early church. And they were there for a purpose, for a reason. They were there as a sign to verify the message of the disciples and the apostles. So as a result of what's happening today, with respect to the charismatic movement, churches shy away from teaching about the Holy Spirit. But that's the worst thing that we can do, because the Holy Spirit has just a glorious ministry in your life and in my life. And we need to know that. We need to understand who He is and what His ministry is to us. Let me ask a question. Whether it's yourself or other people, what is the common concept of the Holy Spirit? If you talk to people or you think about it, what's the common concept of what the Holy Spirit is? You ever see Star Wars? And The Force? And so many Christians think that the Holy Spirit is like The Force. There's a power out there, and that power out there is the Holy Spirit. And it's a personification of power. But people don't think of the Holy Spirit as a person. They think of the Holy Spirit as some power that's out there. But we're going to find out that today our topic is the Holy Spirit and His personality. We're going to spend about five minutes on His personality because we're going to do an overview today with respect to the Holy Spirit. and do and look at is, who is he? Is he just some force or some power that's out there? And the question is, what does the Holy Spirit do? What's his job function? What's his work? What's his ministry? And the other question is, why does he do it? And lastly, where is he? So those are the questions we're going to tackle. So the first one is, who is he? Is he some force out there? And as we've gone through scripture, and we've looked at the Trinity, and remember back in 1492, I don't know how many weeks ago it was, but we looked at the Trinity. And we saw that the Trinity consists of three Persons and one Godhead. We have three Persons, we have one Godhead. And there was a unity with respect to the three Persons and the Godhead. And one of those Persons and the Godhead is the Holy Spirit. So just as the Father is a person and the Lord Jesus Christ is a person, so is the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit has personhood, maybe that's a better way to say it, but has characteristics of personhood. and just not some force that's floating out there. And not only that, but the Holy Spirit is God. He's deity. And how do we know that? I'm not going to have you turn there, but if you take a look in Genesis 1.1, it says what? In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. And in verse 2, it says what? about the Spirit of God. In the first two verses in the Bible, here you have the Holy Spirit as part of creation, the whole creative process. And you see that the Holy Spirit is God. And then when you get to verses 26 and 27, on day 6, when God creates man, God says this, us create man in whose image? Our image. And so, in Genesis 1.1, in the beginning, God, Elohim, created the heavens and the earth. Elohim is plural, and you could translate that as gods, and it's translated in the New Testament, and in many places, as gods. But we know that that in that particular case, in other cases in the New Testament, it's used as a uniplural noun. It's a plural noun, but it's used in the singular because it's depicting that there are three persons in the Godhead. So we know, in Genesis chapter 1, verses 26 to 28, let us create man in our image and in our likeness, plural, It's talking about the God in Genesis 1-1, Elohim. So we know from that that God the Holy Spirit is deity and He is one of the persons. He has personhood. And his personhood, I think the best proof of his personhood is in John chapter 14, when the Lord Jesus Christ says to his disciples, I'm going to be going. And he tells them that he's going to be going to the cross and that he's going to die. But he's going to be raised again the third day. And of course, you know, they were saddened. And not only that, but they really didn't believe him, because when he was resurrected, they didn't believe that he was resurrected. So even though he told them many, many times, they still didn't believe him. But, before he went to the cross, he says, I'm going to go away. But I'm going to give you another comforter, another one just like me. And when he's come, he, personal pronoun, masculine, he will convict the world of sin and of righteousness and of judgment. And so he uses the personal pronoun with regard to the Holy Spirit as a person. Now, the word spirit is neuter. It doesn't have gender. But when the Lord Jesus Christ refers to the Holy Spirit, He uses the masculine pronoun, He. And so the Lord Jesus Christ is referring to the Holy Spirit as a person. He is a person. He has personhood. And He has personhood just like the Father and the Son. He has a heart. He has a mind, an essence. and a nature, he has all the characteristics of a personhood like the Father and the Son. That's as much time as we're going to spend on what we're supposed to spend our time on today in Chapter 14. The teaching of the Holy Spirit is so vast that what we're going to do this morning is kind of do an overview. And so the question is, to answer the second question, all right, now that we know who he is, the question is, what does he do? What's his job function? I've tried to summarize it very succinctly and briefly. The Holy Spirit has a solitary ministry, singular ministry. And not only is it singular, but it's an incomparable ministry. As we look at the ministry of the Holy Spirit this morning, you're going to see it's an incomparable ministry. Nothing like it. So the solitary, incomparable, and not only is it that, but it's glorious, ministry of the Holy Spirit is to fulfill God's eternal purpose. Now, this is so critical, I think, as you go through any book of the Bible. Like, for example, a year ago we taught the book of Genesis. And you know how we taught the book of Genesis? We went through the entire book of Genesis with this outline. from chapter 1 to chapter 50, whatever the last chapter is in the book of Genesis, in looking at how God declares His glory, how He shares His glory, how He reveals His glory, and how He's glorified. And we used that as the outline for going through the book of Genesis, and it is incredible. Because no matter what book you look at in scripture, you can see, if you understand God's eternal purpose, you can see His purpose throughout every single book. So when we approach the ministry of the Holy Spirit, we can, understanding God's eternal purpose, then if He has an eternal purpose, then the Holy Spirit has one singular ministry, one singular function, is to fulfill that purpose. Because God the Father and God the Son are one, they're unity, they have a unity of mind, a unity of purpose, so His purpose, the Holy Spirit's purpose, has to be the Father and the Son's purpose. All right. So what does he do? That's what he does now. How has he done that? If we take a look, and this is an overview now with respect to the work of the ministry of the Holy Spirit. Now, I want you to notice that it is limited here from creation to the end of the end of the church period. We're just limited to that. Now, does that say that he didn't pre-exist? No, just like the Son pre-existed, and Roger went through the pre-existence of the Lord Jesus Christ, so the Holy Spirit pre-existed. And all three, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, were from all eternity. And they had this wonderful fellowship together for all eternity past, forever and ever. And they had this circle of love. And what they're doing today, what's happening today, is back in eternity past They said they want to share that love and that fellowship that they have together with you and with me. And so they're calling out a people to share in that fellowship. And aren't we blessed in terms of that the very God of this universe is calling us and drawing us into that circle of fellowship with the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit is in that bond of love, in that bond of intimacy and fellowship. That's incredible. Incredible. He's pre-existed. See, we've already covered his deity and the fact that he's a person. And as we looked at earlier, we've seen just briefly the Holy Spirit and his function and creation. through this in more detail, and his ministry in the Old Testament, and Roger will be covering that. His ministry in the Old Testament was with that singular purpose, but it was different with respect to believers. And we'll see that as we go through this. But also, the Holy Spirit had a very distinct ministry in the life of the Lord Jesus Christ. In the conception, in Mary's conception, she was conceived how? by the Holy Spirit. And so, the beginning of the incarnation of Christ. And when Christ was resurrected, it is said that the Holy Spirit was involved in His resurrection. And what I find interesting, as you go through Scripture, you find, like in the resurrection of Christ, that when we went through the Eternal Covenant, the Father made the agreement that if the Lord Jesus Christ shed his blood for the sins of the world, that the Father would raise up Christ. Right? Remember that? And the Lord himself said to the Pharisees and those who were around them, He says, destroy this temple and I'll rebuild it in three days. I'll raise it up, excuse me, I'll raise it up in three days. And of course they were thinking of this glorious temple that they were worshipping in, right? Brick and mortar. And they said, how could they possibly, how could he possibly, he must be a madman, how could he possibly If this temple were destroyed, how could he possibly raise it up in three days? What was he talking about? His resurrection, his body destroyed this temple. And I'll raise it up. So here the Lord Jesus Christ is saying that he was part of his own resurrection. And then we'll find in scripture that the Holy Spirit is instrumental in the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. So all three. So you see that ministry of the Holy Spirit in the life of the Lord Jesus Christ. Then comes something that is incomprehensible, incomparable in terms of what happens with respect to the Holy Spirit. So turn in your Bibles please to John chapter 14. And look at verse 16. Well, we'll start at 15. Here's the Lord Jesus Christ talking to his disciples. He says to them, If you love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father that he shall give you another comforter that he may abide with you forever." Just look at those words in verse 16. And I'll pray, the Father, that he shall give you another comforter. And the word there, another, is the word, there's two words in the Greek for another. They're translated, usually in the English, as another, but there's two different words for another. Does anybody have a numeric standard? Does it read as the King James, another comforter? Another helper? Okay. Another counselor? Okay. The word another is the word alas. There's two words in the Greek for another, alas and heteros. And alas means another of the same kind. Heteros means another of a different kind. So I'm going to send you another comforter, another of the same kind, just like me. Exactly like me. In fact, he's going to have the very essence that I have. So whatever essence you observe in me, you're going to observe in the Holy Spirit. He's going to be the same, another of the same kind. have the exact same essence in terms of his righteousness and holiness and his grace and his mercy and his love, etc. Another of the same kind as me. So, in verse 17, and here's who he is, even the spirit of truth So he is the spirit of truth. He cannot lie, just like the Lord Jesus Christ could not lie. So he's another of the same kind. He's truth. And just like the Lord Jesus Christ said, what? I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man comes into the Father but by me. So even the Spirit of Truth whom the world cannot receive, because it sees him not, neither do they know him, but you know him, for he dwells with you." Notice this, that this is just prior to the cross. that He dwells with you, He remains with you, but look of what the promise is, and shall be in you. He's not in you at this point in time, but at a point in time, He's going to be in you. So verse 18, I will not leave you comfortless, I will come to you, yet a little while, and the world sees me no more, but you shall see me, because I live, you shall live also. So here is the promise of the Lord sending another of the same kind, Comforter, the Holy Spirit, and he does come. Keep your finger in John here and just turn over to Acts for a minute. Acts chapter 2 and verse 1 and when the day of Pentecost was fully come they all with one accord in one place and Suddenly there came a sound from heaven like a rushing mighty wind and it filled all of the house where they were sitting And there appeared unto them cloven tongues as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak without their tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven. Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and they were confounded because every man heard them speak in his own language. So here, when the Spirit of God came, associated with the coming of the Spirit of God is tongues. But it describes what these tongues are. These are other languages. Languages that that the disciples who were there never heard in their life. They never took trips to France or to Africa, United. They never left the place where they were raised. But yet they could speak all these languages. So when we talk about tongues, Tongues is not some gobbledygook. Tongues is a known language. It's an understandable language through Scripture. And you can go through all of Scripture and you'll find, as you correlate verse by verse the Scripture with respect to tongues, that it's a known language. So, there's the first thing that happened on the Day of Pentecost, that the coming of the Spirit that here was this gift that was given to some of these disciples that they could speak in this unknown language to them, but understood by those people that were there from all over the world that were in Jerusalem. Okay, so He's coming. He comes, and when He comes, He's not just going to be with believers. The Lord Jesus Christ said He's going to be what? in believers. So believers are filled with the Holy Spirit. Now, when we go through the filling of the Holy Spirit, we're going to distinguish between the filling of the Holy Spirit and the dwelling of the Holy Spirit. And there's a distinction that needs to be made there. But from the day of Pentecost on, Every single believer is indwelt by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit takes up his residence in every single believer. And he has a ministry then in a believer's life, in your life and in my life. He has a glorious ministry in your life and in my life. Not only does He have a ministry in us, but He has a ministry to unbelievers. Just a wonderful ministry to unbelievers. So that's, if you will, the ministry in the church. We find, as we come to the rapture, we find out at the time of the rapture, the moment of the rapture, that the Holy Spirit departs His abode here on earth. And His abode here on earth is in believers. He abides in you and me. When the Lord takes believers out of the earth at the rapture, either those who are dead in Christ are raised, but those believers who are alive, will be changed. Remember in 1 Corinthians chapter 15, a moment, a twinkling of an eye, that those believers are going to meet the Lord in the air. When believers go to be with the Lord, the Holy Spirit goes with them. So the Holy Spirit does not have his abode here any longer on earth. So the question is, Is the Holy Spirit still here on earth? Was He here before Pentecost? Good question. So tell me, was He here before Pentecost? And is He going to be here after the rapture? How? Why? He's God. He's omnipresent. So there's a difference between Him being with people versus in people. So remember the passage of Scripture we just read, the promise from the Lord Jesus Christ. He says, He's with you now. He's omnipresent. But he's going to be in you. His abode is going to be in you. So his abode, in terms of believers, is going to not exist after the rapture. He's going to depart. And scripture says, when he gets taken out of the way in 2 Thessalonians, 1 Thessalonians 5 or 2 Thessalonians 2, but in the book of Thessalonians, either one or two, one of those two, that when he gets taken out of the way, that if you will, all hell breaks loose on this earth. Sin runs rampant. And because the Holy Spirit is the restrainer Sin is restrained today on earth because of you and because of me, because of believers on earth. Sin is held back, it's restrained. But when his abode, when he's taken out of the way, that's a funner class in there, I am laughing. But when he gets taken out of the way, Sin just lets loose here on earth, and so we enter into this tribulation period, which Vern has been going through in the book of Revelation. So, what do we need to say? There has never been in history the ministry of the Holy Spirit as it is today. It's unparalleled. with respect to believers. Believers in the Old Testament, some, very few, were indwelt by the Holy Spirit. Not all, just a very few. But the ministry of the Holy Spirit was nothing, it was incomparable to the ministry today, or His ministry today. And just to get a feel for this, I've tried to just summarize it. Here's his ministry to you and to me today. He has completed some ministries in your life and he has ongoing or continuing ministries in your life. And his completed ministries in your life and my life is that he has shared past tense, Christ's glory with you. It's a done deal. You have Christ's glory, the very glory of the Lord Jesus Christ, you have it. And his ministry He was involved in that happening in your life. And that glory will never ever be taken away from you. It's, as I call here, your incredible position in Christ. Your position is fixed. It's eternal. And when we talk about positional truths, not only are they eternal, but they're immutable. They could never, never, never, never, ever change. Your position in Christ can never change. So when we look at some of the truths here concerning the Holy Spirit, how we shared Christ's glory with you, that's a done deal. then he has continuing ministries, or present ministries, in your walk. And it's conditional. And maybe these ministries will be true in your life, or maybe they won't. It depends upon your walk. If you're walking by faith, these ministries are going to be true in your life. If you're not walking by faith, then these ministries will not be true in your life, or most of them, because there is at least one that will be true in your life. He has a convicting ministry. I don't even know how to put it down on my chart. But nevertheless, so what he does, his continuing ministry, is that he shares Christ's glory with you. He reveals Christ's glory to you and through you, and three, he glorifies the Father and the Son in you and through you. So, talking about God's eternal purpose, of sharing His glory, revealing His glory, and then being glorified, that's His singular purpose. And now let's take a look at some of the details as to how He has shared Christ's glory with you, and how He is presently sharing the glory of Christ with you, revealing the glory of Christ with you, and also glorifying Christ. in you and through you. Okay? Maybe I want to take a guess before I put up this chart. And don't look at your charts. I want to take a guess in terms of some of the completed ministries and how God has shared his glory with you and me. OK. Let's take it past tense, though. Past tense. Presently, he's doing that through Scripture, although he has revealed it to us through the Bible. But what has he done? Who are you? Think of who you are. You're new? And how are you new? Okay. And so, when we say that we're new, what are we? A new what? We're a new creation. Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a, or she, is a new creation. Old things are passed away. All things have become new. That is certainly true. So we're a new creation. What's that creation? Who is that creation? Who is this new creation that we are? It's a done deal. We're a new creation. Who is that new creation? Is it the Lord Jesus Christ? Is it His very glory that we have that makes us a new creation? That He has given us His glory. It makes us totally new. Not like the old creation. The old creation in Adam. All who were in Adam. And that life has terminated. We are no longer in Adam. We are now in Christ. Okay, so as we look at his completed ministries, with respect to how he shared his glory with you, turn to 2 Thessalonians. I have a hard time saying Thessalonians. It's not my false teeth because I don't have false teeth. So 2 Thessalonians, chapters 2, 13 and 14. It says, But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God has from the beginning chosen you to salvation through the sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth, unto which he called you by our gospel." Why did he call? Why did he call us by his gospel? To the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. And that word for obtaining, King James has obtaining. The Greek, you could say, possessing. It's a word that means that we possess that. For the possession of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. Or it can be used as share. Now isn't that incredible? Isn't that incredible? Here's His eternal purpose stated. One part of that eternal purpose, sharing, revealing, right? Or declaring, sharing, revealing. Here's that one part of His eternal purpose stated, that He called us through the Gospel to share His very glory with us. That's incredible. I mean, what is incredible is if you know who you were in Adam, and all that you were in Adam, and that you know who Christ is, that he would share his very glory with us, that is uncomprehendable. In my mind, that's uncomprehendable. And you come to the point where you realize that, you know, there is nothing that I could do to deserve that. Nothing. Nothing that I could do to earn it, to merit it. It has to be done by how? Grace, right? It has to be grace. Now, turn to John 17, verse 22. This is key. So you see how the Spirit is involved in terms of how He shared Christ's glory with us. Now here you have the Lord Jesus Christ praying to the Father, and this is the real Lord's Prayer in John Chapter 17. If you want to understand the heart and the compassion of the Lord Jesus Christ, just read John Chapter 17 over and over and over again. And the more you read John chapter 17 and see the heart of the Lord Jesus Christ, how it's poured out for you and for me, you start entering into an intimacy with Him because you see how much He cares. and how much he loves you in his prayer to the Father. It's incredible. But in verse 22, he says, Father, the glory that you have given me, I have given them." And he's talking about you, and he's talking about me, because his prayer is for those who believe the message of the Apostles. Everybody who would believe the message of the Apostles, the Gospel that we just read in 2 Thessalonians 2, he says, the glory, the very glory that you have given me as a man, I have given them. And here's the clincher. When He says, I have given them, it's a perfect tense. And here's what it means. The Lord Jesus Christ is looking down in time, and He's looking down in time to those who would respond to the gospel, to you and to me. And he's looking at us, knowing who's going to respond to the gospel, and he's saying, Father, the glory that you have given me, I have given them. And he makes it a perfect tense. And a perfect tense means it's a completed action in a past time. with abiding results. It has continuing results, never ever to end. And so you see from what he's saying that his plan and his purpose is to share his glory with us. That's his eternal plan, to share his very glory with us. And it has abiding results, never to end in your life or to my life. responded to the gospel, the fact that he died for your sins, was buried and rose again from the third day, as he did for mine. Now, the rest of scripture details out how he does that. how he shared his glory. As I said, this is a done deal in your life and my life that will never change. It's immutable. So let me just go down it fast because I'm looking at the clock. First he called you. He called you to share in Christ's glory. And when you responded, you were one of the chosen. Now, there's theology out there that says, in terms of chosen, and by the way, you were chosen before the foundation of the world, and there's a theology out there that says that the choosing was before the foundation of the world, and what God did is he looked down in history, in time, and since God is omniscient, well, there's two theologies. One in terms of choosing, where some theologians say that God chose from the foundation of the world who would believe and who wouldn't believe. He's sovereign. He's God. He made the choice. And therefore, when you talk to people about Christ, you better be careful because they may not be one of the chosen ones. terrible theology. Anytime you see the word chosen, and chosen before the foundation of the world, it's always talking about believers. Always talking about believers in the Lord Jesus Christ. And all it's saying is that those truths to the chosen ones were established before the foundation of the world, to those who would respond to the gospel by faith. So it's always by faith. You are chosen by faith, your faith, your response to the gospel. All right, let's go through. He regenerated you. You were born again. In order to be a new creation, you had to have a rebirth. He doesn't fix up the old. And in order for you to be new, and the word new there is new in quality, in order for you to be new, you have to have a new birth. You have to be a whole new creation. And so He regenerated you. You were born from above. You had a new birth. He baptized you. He baptized you. He immersed you. into the person of Christ, into his death, his burial, his resurrection. That's what the word baptized means. It means to immerse. And the beautiful thing about that word is that you're immersed into Christ, into his death, into his burial, into his resurrection, into his ascension, into his seeding, and never, never, ever taken out. That's what that immersion means. That Tidzo, beautiful word, So He baptized you, He justified you, He declared you righteous, He put into your account His righteousness because the only way that you and I can stand before God or have that fellowship with God is you have to be just as righteous as He is. He can't accept one iota or deviation of unrighteousness. You have to have His righteousness. So He justified you. He gave you His, imparted His righteousness to you. He sanctified you. He set you and me apart forever to Him. Forever. He co-enlightened you. Now, you're going to challenge me and you're going to say, I've never heard of that word before. And you're going to go home and look in the dictionary and look up that word. And you're not going to find it in there. And then you're going to go to your big old archaic dictionary, right? That has every word listed. And by the way, I've done this. And you're not going to find it in there either. So this is a word. This is a new word made up Just like you have the word, ah, ah, well, okay. He co-enlightened you. He put life in you. In, in means in. Life means life. What life? Well, it's co-life. It's his life. You share his very life. So that's what that means. He freed you. You are totally free. You are liberated from the law. You are liberated from the sin nature. You no longer have to be a slave to either. He freed you. It's a done deal. He indwelled you forever, as we read in John chapter 14. It's not until we just be taken to the rapture, but it's forever. He's going to be in us, indwell us. He sealed you. He put a stamp on you, a guarantee. And it's a guarantee forever. Okay, those are the completed ministries. Now, we only have three pages to go. Let me just go through this very briefly. Now what he does, as we looked at the summary chart, he shares Christ's glory with you and through you. It's the sharing of Christ's glory. Here's the thing. When you became a believer, you didn't have a clue. You didn't have a clue, number one, of any of the stuff or any of the ministries that were completed in your life. You didn't know you were called. You didn't know you were baptized. You didn't know you were justified. You didn't know you were sanctified. You didn't know. When I ordered this, the only thing that you knew is that you put your trust and faith in Christ. That's all you knew. You didn't know any of this. But this all happened independent of you knowing it. God did it, the moment you believed. And you had no idea, no conception of it. And the only way we know what He's doing today in your life and my life, is we have to look in the Scripture. And we look in the Scripture, and we look at the incomprehensible ministry of the Holy Spirit, He's filling us. That's Roger's chapter. But as we go through these, you're going to see that that chapters 15, 16, 17, 18, and 19 cover just one of these things. And Roger and I are going to have to work this out, because Dr. Louie Sperry-Chaffer only covers a little bit, a little of these ministries, and we're going to have to figure out how we're going to teach this. We haven't done it yet, but it took all this time to put this together. But He fills you, He empowers you, He gifts you, He gives you gifts. He manifests in you and through you the fruit of the Spirit, sharing His glory. He shares the very glory of the Lord Jesus Christ on a continuing basis. He frees you. Not only has he freed you, but he's freeing you as a function of time. He desires for you. He gives you access to the Father, etc. etc. how he shares his glory, but just so you get a feel for how incomprehensible his ministry is, just take a look at how he reveals Christ's glory. In terms of comforting you and teaching you, interceding for you, he guides you, he sanctifies you, he encourages you. And then lastly, He glorifies the Father and the Son in you and through you. And He manifests in you the fruit of the Spirit. Love, joy, peace, long suffering. That's what the world sees. That's how they see Christ. The only way the world can ever see Christ or know Christ is through you. They can't know Christ any other way. Does that put a load on you? Or a responsibility? And this is not laying the law. This is not laying the law on you. But this is the way God operates. He wants the world to see Christ through you and through me. And as they do, they'll see the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ. Okay. Any quick questions? Do you see how vast the ministry of the Holy Spirit is in your life and in my life? It's more than just what Dr. Louis Barry Schaeffer is covering in terms of those few chapters. Let's close in a word of prayer. Our Father, again, we are just so thankful. Just thankful for your love for us, your incredible love for us. And as we look at the ministry of the Holy Spirit in our life, we find and we see your incredible love for us, your care for us, your concern for us. And Father, oh how we thank you for it. And we just pray now for the service to come and pray for Vern to guide him, lead him, that each of us may be edified in the truth. We give you thanks now in Jesus name. Amen.
